The organizing committee is responsible for education and outreach activities. As such, it wishes to promote the subject of Engineered Plants and help those who find the financial burden of the workshop difficult. The committee will provide financial support as travel awards.
Travel awards are available to faculty from NSF EPSCoR jurisdictions, as well as undergraduate and graduate students, particularly those from underrepresented groups. A limited number of awards are also available to others. Towards this end, the organizing committee will provide a small number of individuals with financial support to attend the workshop. Our program aims to:
1. Support faculty from NSF EPSCOR jurisdictions (about 20 awards will be made);
2. Support undergraduate and graduate students to attend the workshop (about 25 awards will be made);
3. Support faculty and research scientists from US and other countries to attend the workshop (about 10 awards will be made).
We will provide up to $1000 (US) travel awards to qualifying participants to partially or completely reimburse the cost of travel, registration, and accommodations at the workshop hotel. Reimbursement will be provided after the workshop is completed.
Requirements to apply
• Must be a paid, registered attendee to the workshop. Reimbursements will be made post conference, and attendance is required.
• Reimbursable expenses are those allowed under US National Science Foundation policies.
• Must be a student or University faculty or research staff member.
Selection Criteria
• Registrants will be selected based on early registration dates.
• Geographic locale (the committee strives for a wide range of participants from a variety of geographic areas)
• Funds are limited, and not all applicants will be awarded.
