Martin A. Martinez, who had worked in SRSL as an REU student in the past summer, received the Emerging Graduate Student Award for Research Excellence in Mechanical Engineering graduate programs. Conference paper (joint work with Ramin Giahi and Cameron MacKenzie from Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Iowa State University) titled “A Multi-stage Optimization Model for Flexibility in Engineering Design” received the Best Track Paper Award at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo 2019.
