The Boyd Lab Training Course is now working properly. If you need added to the course, please email Craig or Josh with your netID and you will be added to the course as soon as possible.
Effective today, Boyd Lab’s 3D printers have moved to a new location in room 1077 Black Engineering. They will be managed by Jim Shelledy (email@example.com). See more information on their webpage.
Boyd Lab will be closed through the second week of classes. The lab will open Monday January 22nd. Please contact Craig or Josh with any questions.
Students have reported problems seeing content in training videos. If you are having problems with seeing the training content, ensure your browser settings are set to allow flash content, pop-ups, and cookies from training.ehs.iastate.edu. Additionally, try using other browsers (Firefox seems to work well). If you continue to have problems, email Josh DeLarm at firstname.lastname@example.org or stop into the Boyd Lab and we will do our best to help you.
Boyd Lab is a fabrication lab that supports Mechanical Engineering classes and ISU student projects (personal projects are not allowed.) Boyd Lab has a variety of resources such as hand tools, power tools, milling and turning equipment, wood working equipment, metal-working equipment, MIG and TIG welders, and a plasma cutter. Students who complete the required training can use the equipment during lab hours or they can submit job requests to have the shop complete their projects for them.
