Mechanical Engineering: Innovatively solving problems to make life better.

Your hands-on classroom learning will develop skills used in research, design and testing, as well as medicine, law and business. A wide range of industries employ mechanical engineers. Mechanical engineers improve quality of life by innovatively solving problems using analysis, modeling, design and synthesis.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BS ME)

Bachelor of Science degree is the first step to becoming a Mechanical Engineer.  The mechanical engineering curriculum is organized to provide students with a broad foundation in mathematics, science, engineering, social science and humanities. This degree involves basic program coursesgeneral education electivesmechanical engineering foundations coursesmechanical engineering core courses, and technical electives.

Major Focus Areas

The mechanical engineering core curriculum is designed to provide undergraduate students exposure to each of the four major areas in the field:

  • Materials and Manufacturing
  • Thermal Fluids
  • Dynamic Systems

Complementary Minors

Along with a major in Mechanical Engineering, students can get a minor in other fields of engineering.
