Stephen Gent, a PhD student studying under Dr. Mark Bryden, recently received a Teaching Excellence Award for his outstanding performance as a laboratory instructor and teaching assistant. The purpose of this award is to recognize and encourage outstanding achievement by graduate students in teaching. The intent is to recognize up to 10% of the graduate students involved in teaching each year.

Stephen has served as the laboratory instructor-in-charge of the Fluids (ME 335) laboratory for Fall 2007, and has been a teaching assistant of the Heat Transfer (ME 436) laboratory for two semesters (Fall 2006 and Spring 2007). He is also actively involved with the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program.
