Wickert receives medallion for named professorship

 

Iowa State University President Gregory Geoffroy recognized Jonathan Wickert, chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as the first Larry and Pam Pithan Professor of Mechanical Engineering at a medallion ceremony on November 8. Larry Pithan, a 1973 ME alum, and his wife, Pam, established the professorship last June.

“I really appreciate the education I received at Iowa State and believe it has played a significant part in the success of my career,” says Larry Pithan, senior vice president, KJWW Engineering Consultants in Rock Island, Illinois. The Pithans established the professorship to show support for Iowa State and to help the university recruit and retain the highest quality faculty and students.
