Abstract
We propose to design new visual, tactile, and auditory interfaces, to enable designers to simultaneously evaluate/validate mechanism operation within the digital buck. Additional factors that will be taken into consideration in evaluating the performance of different user-interfaces include current and expected cost and state of the art of different technologies. Haptic hardware technology will be leveraged from Sensable Technologies. We will develop these interfaces and integrate them into the digital buck in close cooperation with Ford Research Laboratory, AVT, EAI, and Sensable Technologies personnel.
